UK Coal submitted an application for the re-use and retention of Wistow Mine Site (which according to planning consent was to have been restored to agricultural use within 12 months of cessation of coaling). This application was heard at a special planning committee on 8 June 2005, and was rejected by Selby District Council. UK Coal has now appealed against the decision. (16 Dec 2005) Link to local campaign to ensure the original planning permission is complied with (photo right shows locals on sponsored walk) |
