Anthony Havering (real name - Anthony Edward Taylor, born Ilford, 31 March 1948; died York, 20 September 1992)

Tony began acting at school (Royal Liberty Grammar School in Romford); moved on to Caritas, a local amateur dramatic society, for whom he also acted as front of house manager, before eventually turning professional - first jobs: acting in Chester (Young People's Theatre); and Front of House Manager at Lancaster Anthony Havering - Tony, early 1970s Mugshot!
Tony and I met when I was Stage Manager at the Bubble Theatre, and he was Front of House manager.  When I went as Deputy Stage Manager to the Key Theatre in Peterborough, I needed an Assistant Stage Manager -Bubble theatre, 1975 Tony with baby Ben at Scarborough, 1976

Tony worked for the Key again as an actor, in a show called "Screams and Whispers" which went on tour in East Anglia.

We moved to Canterbury, where Tony worked as an ASM  at the Marlowe Theatre; then Tony was an actor with the Young People's Theatre attached to York Theatre Royal.

We got married at English Martyrs' RC Church in York - a low key ceremony followed by a knees-up.  On right: 1982 - BD (before Daisy!)

Tony spent several years at York Theatre Royal, he appeared in the Wizard of Oz and  The Ghost Train, and regular shows with the Young People's Theatre at schools After leaving York Theatre Royal, he appeared on TV, radio and videos - including "Women in Love" for BBC Radio; "Have I got you where I want you?" on ITV

His acting career included appearances in Henry V at Leeds Playhouse (Corporal Nym), and on TV soaps Coronation Street (Mike Baldwin's accountant) and Emmerdale (telephone engineer) Other TV programmes included -  Airline; All Creatures Great and Small; Last of the Summer Wine; Prime Suspect; Harry's Game; Sherlock Holmes - among others
